Coach Mentors

Volunteer Coach Mentors form an important part of the Triathlon Scotland coach development team and are provided with training in development to enhance their skills. They are matched with coaches who are looking for bespoke support to develop areas of their coaching that match a mentors areas of expertise. This may be on a sport-specific basis, e.g. helping a coach to improve their running coaching or on a more generic basis, e.g. supporting a coach who has recently become head club coach and now needs to lead and manage a team of coaches.

Level 3 Coaches

All Level 3 coaches are dedicated individuals who have committed to improving both their theoretical and practical coaching skills. They will have knowledge of the interdisciplinary nature of sport science, periodisation for coaching on an individual basis and the delivery of field-based testing methods. They are the only coaches Triathlon Scotland recognise to plan and deliver one-to-one training programmes.

Coaching Workforce

There are more than 430 UKCC qualified triathlon coaches in Scotland, each playing a key role in developing triathlon in clubs across the country. Our coaching programme is based on the Coaching Scotland blueprint, created by sportscotland.

There are currently three levels of UKCC Triathlon qualifications available for candidates to complete. These courses are delivered by our pool of expert coach tutors.

Triathlon Scotland maintain a Coaching Register, in order to be on the register you must hold a valid triathlon coaching qualification and be a current member of Triathlon Scotland.  Please note that if you gained your coaching qualification prior to the UKCC in 2007, your qualifications may be being verified and your entry will appear once this has happened. To view the register, please see below.
