Triathlon Scotland Triathlon and Paratriathlon Performance Pathway Overview

The aim of the Triathlon Scotland Performance Pathway programmes is to develop Scottish athletes, who are capable of representing Great Britain and can go on to win medals at Commonwealth, Olympic and Paralympic Games, to their full potential. Para triathlon is fully integrated into the Triathlon Scotland Performance Pathway.

The Triathlon Scotland Performance Pathway is aligned to the British Triathlon Strategic Performance Plan 2021-2032 and the British Triathlon  Athlete Development Framework. It provides a gateway to the British Triathlon World Class Performance Programme.

The Triathlon Scotland Performance Pathway will operate two squads below the British Triathlon World Class Performance Programme.  These are Next Generation and  Academy, which includes Academy Affiliate.  These squads are aligned with the other Home Nations Performance Pathways.

In addition, Triathlon Scotland will operate a Commonwealth Games Squad that provides support for athletes who are not on a British Triathlon World Class Performance Programme and who have graduated from the Next Generation level. These athletes have the potential to qualify for the next Commonwealth Games or have achieved performances that evidence the potential to be selected to the British Triathlon World Class Performance Programme in the future.

Triathlon Scotland work in partnership with the University of Stirling to offer a centralised programme in Stirling and also support athletes who are based elsewhere in Scotland and the UK.
