Performance

The aim of the triathlonscotland performance programme is to develop Scottish athletes in order that Scots comprise 10% of all GB squads by 2012, with a view to having a Scottish athlete in the London 2012 Great Britain Olympic team and two by 2016.

Triathlon will be the opening event at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014 and it is our intention to field a full team, capable of winning a medal and delivering further top 10 performances. Our programme is supported by sportscotland and its Institute of Sport and our selection policy is designed to identify talented athletes with the potential to deliver against these targets.

While this staffed programme focuses on Commonwealth and Olympic goals and therefore, standard distance triathlon, triathlonscotland is phenomenally proud of its champions in other events and seeks to provide practical assistance and event opportunities to long distance athletes and duathletes, both at elite and age-group level.
