The Triathlon Events

There were three triathlon events contested at Glasgow 2014: women’s and men’s individual races on Thursday 24 July at 11am and 3pm respectively and the mixed team relay at 12.30pm on Saturday 26 July.

The events promised to be packed with action, and for those who didn’t get their hands on a spectator grandstand ticket there were non-ticketed, free-to-view options in the park, so everyone could be involved in this incredible Home Games.
Triathlon was also covered extensively on the BBC.
The individual course comprised: a two-lap 1500m swim, a five-lap 40km cycle and a three-lap 10km run. The bike course was undulating and featured several dead turns, making it very technical.
The mixed team relay event was a shorter distance event where each athlete completed a 250m swim, 6km bike and 1.6km run before tagging their team mate to start their race.
