After the excitement of the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final last weekend in Rotterdam, it’s no rest for Marc Austin who is racing in Spain this weekend at the Huelva ITU Triathlon World Cup on Sunday. Marc will race alongside fellow Brits Adam Bowden, Gordon Benson, Iestyn Harrett and James Teagle. The standard distance race has quite an interesting bike course, with one 20km long loop, followed by 4 short technical and hilly loops. More details of the event are here.

There is also ETU race excitement this weekend for Fergus Roberts and Beth Potter who have both travelled to Portugal to compete in the Funchal ETU Sprint Triathlon European Cup on Saturday . Beth and Fergus will line up alongside fellow Brits Liam Lloyd, Jimmy Kershaw Chris Perham, Luke Pollard, Jack Willis and Zoe Thomas.

At home on Saturday we have Peebles Come and Tri, Helix Duathlon Festival and the Prestwick Autumn Aquathlon.

On Sunday we have four events and welcome the return of the Peebles Sprint Triathlon, the McQueen Brothers Mid Argyll Sprint Triathlon, Huntly Standard Triathlon and the Kirkwall Youth Triathlon.

In other news, British Triathlon is continuing their Tri4Tokyo Talent Identification programme and are on the hunt for athletes who will be able to challenge the best in Britain and, in time, the best in the World.

Paratriathlon is a dynamic and demanding sport, with the successful athletes needing to be dedicated and hard working. British Triathlon launched the Tri4Tokyo programme with an event in February this year and the athletes we discovered then are already having a significant impact on a British and World stage. Nine athletes who came through that programme are now part of the British Triathlon Paratriathlon Talent programme, with two of those competing successfully at last week’s World Paratriathlon Championships.
