The Scottish Athletics National Cross Country Championships take place at Callendar Park in Falkirk this Saturday with a number of performance squad athletes taking part.

Julie Nimmo will race in the Senior Women’s race (10km) however Beth Potter who finished first in 2016 and second in 2017 at the event will not take part as she is preparing for the Commonwealth Games where she will represent Scotland in both the 10,000m and Triathlon events.

Development squad member Cameron Main races in the U20 Men’s category (7.5km) alongside Confirmation squad member Josh Hendry and Winning Student Scholar George Goodwin. Confirmation squad athletes Kate Gallagher and Sophia Green are also racing in the Women’s U20 category (7.5km).

A number of our academy squad are also taking part with Ben MacMillan, Calum Young and William Taylor and Clare Wallace racing in the U17 Male and Female categories (6km) while Callum Byrne, Jack Patton, Kyle Howie, Carrie Banks, Isla Britton, Kate Richardson, Kyra Gibb and Lily Jane Evans-Haggerty race in the U15 boys and girls categories (4.1km).

The National Coaching Conference also takes place this weekend at Tollcross International Swimming Centre.

The conference is a fantastic opportunity for coaches of all abilities to come together and explore a variety of important coaching topics. There will be a combination of practical and information based sessions that are designed to give coaches the opportunity to reflect and discuss key topics covered in each of the sessions.
