Happy New Year from all of us at Triathlon Scotland and welcome to the first weekend preview of 2018!
The year of Triathlon kicked off early with the traditional New Year’s Day Triathlon in Edinburgh. Over 300 triathletes of all abilities got their 2018 off to a great start as they completed the 400m swim, 16.5km bike and 5.3km run. The event marked its 24th year and again included a lot of first-time triathletes! To see some race action and hear from some of the new triathletes, watch our short video below. This Sunday we have more racing with the second round of the Angus Bike Chain Winter Duathlon Series. The race will take place at Monikie Park and consist of a 4km run, 21.5 km cycle and then a final 4 km run. The always popular series saw almost 100 triathletes take part in the first round with more set to start in the upcoming rounds. Overall times from each of the events will be combined to decide the winners of the series. Results from the first round in the series can be found here.
