Hollyrood Park was filled with runners on Saturday as it hosted the Great Edinburgh Cross Country. There were a number of Triathlon Scotland Performance Squad athletes racing and producing some fantastic results including a number of top 20 finishes.

Jack Patton (13:52) had an outstanding race after fighting hard to take the gold by just a few seconds in the U15 boys Inter-District race. In the Girls event, our Academy squad had great representation in the top 20 with Isla Britton finishing 8th (16:00), Jennifer Murray 14th (16:19), and Carrie Banks 18th (16:25).

Erin Wallace (15:03) who has returned after an injury was racing in the Junior Women’s race for Great Britain. She finished the race in 14th place with the USA and Europe taking the podium positions.

In the Senior and Junior Women’s Inter-District race, Kate Gallagher (23:48) finished in 16th position overall, giving her the Scottish Inter-District silver medal! Kate had a fantastic race finishing only 4 seconds behind Cara Gemmell who took the Scottish Inter-District Gold.

Congratulations to squad members Callum Byrne, Calum Young, Cameron Main, Josh Hendry, Hamish Armitt, Ben MacMillan, Claire Wallace, Rebecca Eggeling and former Duathlon World Champion Catriona Morrison who also competed on Saturday. For full results, click here.
