Weekend Review 6-7 January

Conditions were chilly but bright at Monikie Country Park on Sunday where the second round of the ABC Winter Duathlon Series took place. A total of 66 competitors took part in the event comprising of a 4km run, 21.5km cycle and final 4km run.

 

In the men’s race, Ewan Taylor (01:05:35) finished first overall, successfully defending his first-round victory. Grangemouth Triathlon Club’s Brian Mclellan (01:06:25) finished in second place, just one second ahead of Daniel Clarke (01:06:26). All three men defended their first-round results, putting them in the top three spots in the series so far.

 

In the women’s race, Perth Triathlon club’s Laura Kent (01:19:18) finished ahead of Katie Bain (01:19:22) and Carla Sutherland (01:22:45). The overall results for the first two rounds of the series have Katie Bain in first-place, followed by Carla Sutherland and Linda Lucey. The final race of the series takes place on Sunday 4 February.
