GO TRI – Get into Triathlon!
One of the best ways to get started in triathlon is to create your own triathlon! Simply decide where you want to swim, cycle and run from options such as a “trip to the pool”, “pedal in the park” or “jog round the block”! If you don’t want to get wet, or don’t have a local pool nearby, you could try rowing in the gym. You can record your progress in your diary or activity monitor (e.g. fitbit) and then you can see if you can get around faster each time you complete your personal triathlon.
What can I do next?
2017 saw the introduction of GO TRI events and activities in Scotland. Developed by British Triathlon, GO TRI events provide you with the opportunity to take part in short triathlon or multi sport activities at a minimum cost. The events will be very basic and the aim is for you to discover the sport, enjoy the achievement of finishing an event. You will probably not get a goody bag but you will have had a great time and hopefully leave with the decision that triathlon is for you!
How do I get involved?
Scottish GO TRI events are listed on our website under our event search. Just search under GO TRI and you will see what is happening near to you. Just now we are building up our bank of events, so keep checking back if there is not yet an event in your area. If you happen to be taking a trip, then you can search the main GO TRI website to find other events across England and Wales.
