Performance of the Year (Age-Group): Alan Bremner – Newhaven Harbour Triathlon Club
12th Dec 2024 | Written by Luke Howard
Alan Bremner is your 2024 Triathlon Scotland Award winner for the Club Sprit Award.
Alan Bremner is an exceptionally talented triathlete who has excelled in both short and long-distance events over many years, and 2024 has been remarkable for him.
In May, he won his age group at the Ironman Lanzarote, thus securing a place (for the 4th time) at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. He followed this up in July with an age-group win at the Alpe d’Huez triathlon, legendary for the challenging 21 hairpin bends of the cycle course.
In October, Alan went to Kona, Hawaii, to compete in the Ironman World Championships, where he raced against over 300 of the best in the world in his age group and achieved an amazing third place. These exceptional results are a testament to Alan’s commitment and dedication to training to be the very best competitor that he can be.
In addition to his personal achievements, Alan is always supportive of other NHTC members, or indeed anyone who shows an interest in swim/bike/run. He encourages us all in our various training and racing endeavours, whatever the level, and was the driving force behind our SwimBikeRun aquathlon to encourage new participants to the sport in September.
As a Triathlon Scotland coach, he is keen to share his knowledge and experience, not to mention his boundless enthusiasm for triathlon.
