Triathlon Scotland has a budding and lively youth section and with the increasing popularity of the sport as well as an increase in youth sections in our clubs, more and more kids are getting in to triathlon.

Find A Club
Clubs are at the heart of triathlon in Scotland and a number of the clubs around the country have recognised that providing opportunities for young people to take part is key to the future of our sport. Clubs with youth sections normally have youth specific training sessions and dedicate youth section coaches. Use our club finder page to find a suitable club in your area.
There are a lot of opportunities out there for the most seasoned young triathlete to the absolute beginner, including the Legends Rankings Youth Series – combining swimming and running – and the annual Scottish Youth Triathlon Championship.
Youths and juniors compete in set age group categories as below:
- Age 8
- Age 9-10
- Age 11-12
- Age 13-14
- Age 15-16
Age is taken as per 31 December of the year of competition.
