Performance Pathway
Triathlon Scotland Triathlon and Paratriathlon Performance Pathway Overview
Triathlon Scotland is currently undertaking a review of the Performance Pathway structure and selection guidance to ensure our programmes continue to meet the needs of athletes at different stages of their development and provide the right support, challenge and opportunities at the right time.
As part of this review, we are moving towards an updated pathway structure consisting of Academy, Academy Gold, and Championship. These changes are designed to create clearer progression opportunities for athletes and better align the Scottish pathway with the wider British Triathlon pathway. A key focus of the new structure is to better match athletes’ current level of performance, commitment to training and racing, and overall development needs with the most appropriate training and racing experiences.
This updated approach places greater emphasis on the athlete as a whole, considering not only performance metrics but also training commitment, behaviours, skill development and long-term development potential.
The new Academy / Academy Gold Selection Guidance is now available via the link below. Selection guidance for the Championship Programme is currently being finalised and will be published soon.
