Irvine Sprint Triathlon
2nd August 2026 Event Permitting In ProgressEvent Information
The Irvine Sprint Triathlon organised by Ayrodynamic Triathlon Club, incorporating the 2026 Triathlon Scotland National Sprint Distance Championships, is an exciting open water sprint triathlon on the Ayrshire coast within easy reach of the central belt, suitable for all abilities including triathlon beginners.
Voted Triathlon Scotland's Event of the Year in 2024, the race was commended for an inclusive, friendly and supportive atmosphere, and we pride ourselves on our race being a gateway to the sport of Triathlon.
Starting the day with a one lap 750 metre swim in the calm and clear Shewalton pond, the bike then takes you to Irvine Beach Park for a two loop fairly flat and fast 21.7km bike route before returning to T2 and setting off on a 5km run takes in a flat out and back run course on a traffic free tarmac path through Shewalton woods.
Upon finishing the race, there is a well renowned post race buffet provided by club members for you to refuel and enjoy while chatting to fellow participants and spectators alike.
The day will conclude with an awards ceremony with overall and age group prizes.
Entries are now open with both individual and relay team places available. Relay teams are made up by 3 participants completing one discipline each and can be single or mixed gender.
