Swim Bike Run | Club
20th Nov 2025 | Written by Pamela Sneddon
On 30 November 2025, Triathlon Inverness will become the second club in Scotland to pilot the newly launched Swim Bike Run Club initiative, designed to open the sport to newcomers while offering current members a more relaxed, social alternative to traditional triathlon events.
The initiative aims to break down barriers to participation by creating an inclusive, club-based experience where both seasoned triathletes and first-timers can get involved. Existing members are encouraged to take part for fun, while those curious about the sport can try swimming, cycling, and running in a low-pressure environment.
Events follow a time-based format, allowing participants to give each discipline their best effort within a set window. Competitors have up to 30 minutes in the pool, followed by a 30-minute spin class, and finally a 30-minute run on the outdoor track. The flexible structure means individuals can go as far or as steadily as they wish, making it suitable for all fitness levels.
For those not ready to take on all three disciplines, alternative race formats are also available, including:
-
Aquathlon: swim and run
-
Aquabike: swim and bike
-
Duathlon: run, bike, run
