How Your Membership Money Helps
Triathlon Scotland has five main business areas and the funds we raise through membership are substantially invested in the first four areas: organisation, participation, competition and events and education and development, in order to achieve our mission: realising the full potential of a vibrant triathlon community in Scotland.
Organisation – this is the office of Triathlon Scotland, administering membership applications, responding to member enquiries, governance, The Board and communications.
Participation – we are growing the sport of triathlon in Scotland by focusing on areas such as:, supporting the existing club network, supporting the development of new clubs, providing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to try triathlon, encouraging volunteering, and recognising the achievements of everyone involved through our annual awards.
Competition & Events – we support race organisers to deliver safe, high quality events through our race sanctioning procedures. We support the Scottish Championship events by providing hosts with support, medals, prize funds, branding and competitor giveaways. We also promote repeat participation through the Legends ranking series.
Education & Development – we provide training and development opportunities for people interested in coaching, officiating and race organising. Coaches in particular are trained to gain recognised UKCC qualifications. We also provide a series of conference events and development opportunities for all participants within triathlon.
