TRI In The Park

The Glasgow 2018 European Championships, in partnership with Triathlon Scotland, have launched a brand new Triathlon event at Strathclyde Park to introduce people to the sport – TRI in the Park!

TRI in the Park on Sunday 12 August will be packed with activity for those have never tried the three triathlon disciplines – swimming, cycling and running – all together, as well as a host of family-friendly activity.

Races will be held throughout the day including a mini GO TRI event for adults who are new to triathlon involving a 300m swim, 5k bike ride and a 1.5k run and a family relay where the child takes part in an open water swim and two adults complete the event with a cycle and run.

There is also an Aquathlon which involves swimming and running, a Duathlon which sees participants run, cycle and then run again, races aimed at existing young triathletes age 11 to 14, and short distance routes for novices and existing triathlon enthusiasts.

All you need to do is choose your event, or events, from the chart below and sign up!

We are also supporting the Accenture Mixed Team Challenge which is a national series of races inspiring people to get out of the office and into their kit. Participants in our sprint event can take part as a mixed gender team in one of two categories, forming either a Relay team or a Tribe.

Those wanting to share the triathlon experience can team up with two friends as part of a Relay, with each participant completing either the swim, cycle or run, whilst the Tribe option is on offer for those seeking an even greater challenge. A Tribe is formed by three participants, each completing an entire triathlon from the klaxon all the way to the finish line. All three finish times will be accumulated, with the quickest team being crowned the winning Tribe.

To take part, just indicate on your entry if you want to be part of the Accenture Mixed Team Challenge.

The top mixed gender Relay team and Tribe will be awarded Wiggle voucher prizes. As an added incentive, any team, whether that be Relay or Tribe, taking part at any event across the series will be entered into a draw for each team member to win a state of the art racing bike to help them during their triathlon journey.
