New Year’s Day Triathlon
1st January 2026 Event Permitting ApprovedEvent Information
New Years Day Triathlon is now in its 30th edition. We reckon we are the longest running triathlon in Scotland if not the UK. The format is set up for beginners and also suits those who have been around a bit. We welcome people from all over and hope that the friendly atmosphere we create reflects that of the sport in general. It is a super sprint distance event with the bike and run taking place on closed roads within the iconic Holyrood Park. The swim is over 400metres in the Royal Commonwealth Pool, a snake system is used to allow an easy way to manage the number of athletes all dipping their feet in the water for the first time in the year.
