Triathletes are made in winter | Stay motivated

3 tips to keep your drive alive through chilly training days
1. Focus on the “Why,” Not Just the Weather
Remind yourself why you’re training, whether it’s finishing that 20 km ride strong, feeling fitter, or staying consistent through winter.
Write your goal somewhere visible (bike, fridge, phone wallpaper), it’s easier to push through the cold when you see your purpose daily.
2. Create a Winter Routine You Actually Enjoy
Make your sessions something you look forward to:
- Warm up indoors with a few stretches or light spinning.
- Play your favorite playlist or podcast.
- Set micro-goals (like “hit 3 rides this week” or “add 5 minutes to my endurance ride”).
- Small wins build big momentum.
3. Control What You Can – Gear Up & Warm Up
Cold weather feels ten times worse when you’re unprepared. Invest in good winter kit: thermal base layers, gloves, shoe covers, and a windproof jacket.
And always start slightly chilly – you’ll warm up within minutes. Comfort = consistency.
