Triathlon Scotland Triathlon and Paratriathlon Performance Pathway Overview
Triathlon Scotland’s Performance Pathway is designed to identify and develop Scottish triathletes and paratriathletes with the potential to represent Great Britain and achieve success on the world stage — including the Commonwealth, Olympic, and Paralympic Games. Paratriathlon is fully integrated throughout the pathway.
Aligned with the British Triathlon Strategic Performance Plan (2021–2032) and the British Triathlon Athlete Development Framework, the pathway supports athletes on their journey toward the British Triathlon World Class Performance Programme.
Performance Squads
Triathlon Scotland operates three performance squads beneath the World Class Programme:
- Championship Squad Performance Pathway
- Next Generation Squad
- Academy Squad, including Academy Affiliate Athletes
These squads are aligned with the performance pathways of other Home Nations, offering a clear and consistent route for athlete development.
In partnership with the University of Stirling and British Triathlon, we deliver a centralised high-performance training environment at the National Triathlon Centre (NTC) in Stirling. Scottish athletes based elsewhere in Scotland or across the UK are also supported through the Triathlon Scotland Performance Pathway.
