Major events
In Great Britain each year there are a host of major events that you can choose from in order to gain a Scottish, English, Welsh and/or British Championship title. There are also Great Britain Age-Group team qualification races that take place throughout the year. To see which events have major event status for 2026, visit the British Triathlon website below.

Triathlon Scotland National Championships
Our Scottish National Championship events are the flagship event series in the Scottish Calendar. We work in conjunction with selected event organisers to deliver nine National Championship events each year, and we welcome competitors from across Scotland, as well as further afield, to take part.
We’re delighted to announce that our Championship medals and trophies for 2026 are proudly sponsored by Laser Are Us. Their support has helped us provide high-quality medals to recognise the incredible achievements of all our athletes competing this year. Laser Are Us have also sponsored the Scottish National Team Relay Club Championships as well as the National Triathlon Series. We’re very grateful for their continued support of triathlon in Scotland.
Championship Eligibility
Scottish National Championship events comprise overall winners and age group category winners, giving members the chance to compete against their peers and win National titles.
To be eligible to win a National title you must be a Core or Ultimate member of Triathlon Scotland before the start time of their Championship race. The only exception to this is the Scottish National Schools Aquathlon Championships, where participants do not need to be a member.
To be eligible to win a Scottish National Team Relay Club Championships title, all of your team members must be a member of the same Triathlon Scotland affiliated club, as well as all being a Core or Ultimate member of Triathlon Scotland. Applications to change clubs must be made to Triathlon Scotland 14 days before the Mixed Team Relay Championship race.
