Understanding Talent

Developed by the Talent Team at the sportscotland institute of sport, we hope this film will help young athletes gain a new perspective on what ‘talent’ really means and ultimately encourage them to work hard at their sports.

It is aimed primarily at young athletes (11 – 18) but is also very relevant to those who influence them –from their coaches and teachers to parents, peers, neighbours and role models.

The message is simple – hard work and determination can lead to sporting success.

Plan for Success

Following on from Understanding Talent, the Talent Team at the sportscotland institute of sport, have produced a second short film which we hope will help young athletes to develop a plan for what their sporting goals are, and how they might achieve them.  It is aimed primarily at young athletes (11 – 18) but is also very relevant to those who influence them – from their coaches and teachers to parents, peers, neighbours and role models.

The message is simple – planning for success and working hard on your plan will help you achieve your sporting goals.

There are additional resources to accompany these short films, including a template to help young people to develop their plan. You can download these in the further reading links below.
