British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) Duathlon Championships 2025 saw a record Scottish turnout, with 91 athletes from eight universities travelling to Mallory Park in Leicestershire for this year’s championship. Competitors from Dundee, Edinburgh, Edinburgh Napier, Glasgow, St Andrews, Strathclyde and Stirling lined up across both the non-drafting and drafting categories.
In the open race, Stirling’s Cameron Kerr delivered a strong performance, staying in touch with the lead bike pack before producing a rapid final run to secure 8th place overall and finish as the top Scot.
In the female race, Edinburgh’s Charlotte Burton impressed in her first major multisport event. Turning in two exceptional run splits to claim 26th overall, and finishing as the leading Scottish athlete.
Team results were equally encouraging. In the open division, Stirling placed 4th and Edinburgh 10th, both securing top-10 finishes. In the female team standings, Edinburgh took 7th place.
Congratulations to all athletes and University clubs involved.
