Balbirnie Park Duathlon

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Balbirnie Park this is the fourth event from the friendly and inclusive members at Glenrothes Triathlon Club. With the transition located on the lawn beside Balbirnie House Hotel this is an event with a truly stunning backdrop. Thanks are due to the kind people at the hotel for all their help in making this event what it is. Please follow signs for Balbirnie House Hotel and Balbirnie park when looking for the location. The event itself consists of a 5k run (2 x the 2.5k course), 20k bike (1 loop) and 2.5k run. With both runs set wholly within the park and running alongside Balbirnie Golf Course there couldn't be a more scenic and safe setting. The bike course is on road and takes in quiet country roads in the Star and Kennoway area before returning to the park. The climb up Langside quarry from Kennoway will provide a good test for those with a liking for climbing. Elsewhere the route is rolling but not too demanding. The run and cycle route will be marshalled.
