Our Federation
British Triathlon is a Federation, whose members are the three Home Nation’s Associations of Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland and Welsh Triathlon.
British Triathlon is responsible for matters such as the Great Britain Elite, Paratriathlon and Age Group Teams, British and International Events, Anti-Doping and International Representation. British Triathlon also manages a number of services which are shared with the three Home Nations.
Principal Partner
sportscotland is the national agency for sport. It is the lead agency for the development of sport in Scotland, investing expertise, time and public money in developing a world class sporting system at all levels. It is a non-departmental public body, responsible through ministers to the Scottish Parliament.
The sportscotland institute of sport in Stirling is the high performance arm of sportscotland. Triathlon receives support services for triathletes on its performance programme, such as physiotherapy and strength & conditioning.
Official Partner
The University of Stirling is Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence and its campus is home to the Triathlon Scotland Central Office and Scotland’s triathlon performance training centre.
The National Triathlon Centre, located at the University, is a joint partnership between the University, British Triathlon and Triathlon Scotland where the University’s scholarship programme is integrate with the governing bodies’ performance pathways.
With shared funding provision and strategic overview across the partners, Stirling becomes one of five centres within British Triathlon’s performance pathway tasked with supporting the long-term development of talented athletes, whilst providing a dual-career pathway through academia.
Winning Students 100 is a world-leading dual-career programme that supports 100 of the most talented student athletes studying at Higher and Further Education institutions in Scotland. Since the original Winning Students scholarships launched in 2008, the programme has supported over 1500 student athletes, including world and Olympic champions.
Triathlon is a core sport on the programme, with students put forward for selection by Triathlon Scotland. Winning Students is an education-led programme which aims to support student athletes along the performance pathway in their sport and enhance the capability of the further and higher education sectors to support and cater for the needs of talented student athletes as flexibly as possible.
Membership Partner
Big Bobble Hats have spent the last decade perfecting their hats for the great outdoors. They have over 60 styles of hats all designed in Scotland and regularly support triathlon events across the country and the rest of the UK. They have been in the design workshop over the past few months and have designed a Big Bobble Hat specifically for Triathlon Scotland Members.
Photography & Videography Partner
Kenny Girvan is our Official Photography Partner, providing photography and videography services to Triathlon Scotland for our Scottish National Championship and other flagship events. Kenny Girvan Photography provides photography and video solutions for sports, events and custom commissions. A photographer since the film days, Kenny is now enjoying modern technology and providing quality images and video to help capture those special moments, occasions and events.
Athlete Support
The sportscotland institute of sport, the high performance arm of sportscotland, provides high performance expertise to the Triathlon Scotland performance programme triathletes.
