Kirkwall Mini Triathlon

28th May 2023 Event Permitting Approved

Event Information

The triathlon starts with a 400m swim at the Pickaquoy Centre swimming pool in Kirkwall. The cycle takes the competitors along an undulating course across the harbour front and countryside in Kirkwall. Then the 3k run takes you on a out and back course up past the back of the Rugby Club, up Muddisdale Track to a turn point, then back the same way to finish.

Team entries are welcome and actively encouraged from families, sporting clubs, workforces etc. For teams of 2 or 3, entrants can be 13-14 years old (or turning 13 by 31/12/18) to do the swim and/or run sections of the race.

For safety reasons, Triathlon Scotland does not permit anyone under the age of 16 on the public highway to take part in the bike section of the race. The roads for both bike and run legs are open for this event. Participants are reminded that road safety and compliance with the highway code are their responsibility. Both bike and run routes will be marshalled and signposted.
