Breese Storms to Victory in New Super Series Venue

The British Triathlon Super Series headed to Bristol for the first time, with a sprint-distance race held as part of the Bristol Triathlon, organised by Active Training World. Attention was solely on the Senior athletes this time around, as they returned to action just a week after Mallory Park.

In the female race, Millie Breese of the National Triathlon Centre delivered a dominant performance. She exited the swim in third alongside Katie Rodda and built a 15-second lead early in the bike leg. By the end of the second lap, a seven-strong chase group had caught them, and the front pack worked together to extend their gap on the field. Jess Turnbull was also part of the front pack and helped to drive the pace at the front of the race.

On the run, Breese made her move, clocking the fastest split of the day to take victory by over 30 seconds. Jasmine Cooper finished second, with Ellie White claiming third a further 20 seconds back. The win marks an important step for Breese as she now builds towards the European U23 Championships.

Other notable performances came from Sam McInnes who narrowly missed out on a top 10 finish, coming home in 11th position. Mia Padmanabhan (University of Glasgow), who ran well to finish 13th, followed by Anna Hedley (National Triathlon Centre) in 17th, Isla Hedley (National Triathlon Centre) in 20th. Maisie Aubrey (National Triathlon Centre) finished in 22nd and posted the fastest bike split of the day in the race. Jess Turnbull decided not to run off the bike due to an injury.

In the open race, Tom Tyler (National Triathlon Centre) placed 24th and Jack Kennedy (National Triathlon Centre) 34th.
