National Triathlon Centre athletes perform!

17th Jul 2025 | Written by Pamela Sneddon

Our elite Scottish and National Triathlon Centre athletes delivered standout, medal-winning performances over the weekend, competing at top-level races in both Ireland and Germany.

Irish National Sprint Championships

We had three National Triathlon Centre athletes make the trip from Stirling to Longford for the 2025 Sprint Distance National Championships at Lanesboro TC’s Two Provinces Triathlon on Saturday, 12th July.

Scotland’s Cameron Kerr saw it as a great opportunity to get some extra racing in against strong competition, while Jack Kennedy and Tom Williamson (PTS5) were on the start line aiming to claim a national title.

It was a standout day overall for National Triathlon Centre athletes in the men’s race. Kerr led from the front, exiting the swim first and staying strong throughout to secure a dominant overall win, finishing 38 seconds clear of the field.

Irish teammates Jack Kennedy and Tom Williamson (PTS5) were right in the mix from the start. Kennedy ran strongly to finish second overall and claim the Irish national title. Williamson impressed by holding pace with the lead group throughout the swim and bike, then ran through to secure a very well-deserved 8th place.

World Triathlon Championship Series, Hamburg

Olympic bronze medallist Beth Potter was back in action over the weekend at the latest World Triathlon Championship Series race in Hamburg.

The Scottish athlete put together a well-rounded swim, bike, and run performance to make it yet another podium on the world stage, taking the bronze medal—only finishing behind France’s duo of Leonie Periault and Olympic Champion Cassandre Beaugrand.

That’s now two podiums for Potter, following a second-place finish in Yokohama. This gives her a strong footing in the race for the world title as we head into the second half of the 2025 season. With four more WTCS races to go, it’s all to play for.

What’s to come for our elites this weekend

European Championships Melilla

This coming weekend, we have some of our very best athletes heading to Melilla to compete in the European Sprint Championships, taking place on Saturday, 19th July.

Alex Robin will be representing Great Britain in the junior men’s race, aiming to make his mark on the European stage. Having already gained major international experience at the World Junior Championships last year in Pontevedra, the young Scot will be able to ease the nerves, knowing he’s competed at this level before.

Mille Breese (National Triathlon Centre) will be taking on a strong field in the elite & under-23 race as she continues her development at the top level. After her dominant victory in a recent Super Series event, it will be exciting to see how she performs in this competitive environment.

Rounding out the day of racing will be Hamish Reilly in the elite & U23 men’s race. With solid preparation behind him, he’s ready to take on Europe’s best and deliver a strong performance.
