750m swim/20k cycle/5k run. The Pool swim will be based in the Peebles Swimming Pool, Peebles. The swim order will be dictated in waves based on submitted ‘estimated swim times'. The transition will be sited in the car park adjacent to the pool. The routes in Peebles make the most of the historic Borders countryside, with the cycling route following the B7062 outward towards Howford Farm with a dead turn directing riders the same route back. This route also passes Kalzie gardens and beautiful Traquair, the oldest inhabited house in Scotland. The run route follows the River Tweed, famous for its salmon fishing. Lopping twice around the “Three Bridges” and then following a circular route along the riverside crossing at Priorsford and Fotheringham bridges. Other attractions in the area include Glentress, a popular mountain biking hotspot, ‘Go Ape’ (for those who fancy some high rope climbing), Dawyck Botanic Gardens, and The Cross Kirk- a friary founded in the late 13th century.
