Updated | Codes of Practice for coaches, leaders, activators and technical officials launched

British Triathlon and the Home Nations of Triathlon England, Triathlon Scotland and Welsh Triathlon, have refreshed these Codes of Practice – reaffirming a powerful commitment to fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone in the swim, bike, run community.
These updated Codes set the standard for excellence in behaviour and conduct across our sport. They clearly define what good practice looks like, provide guidance for continuous improvement, and support everyone in upholding the values at the heart of British Triathlon. The Codes of Practice are a vital part of ensuring our sport remains a place where everyone can thrive.
Marc Scott, British Triathlon’s Head of Integrity, said:
“The codes of practice are tailored specifically for coaches, leaders, activators, and officials, reflecting best practice in the essential areas of respect, integrity, conduct, and fair play. I encourage everyone in the triathlon community to take a few minutes to read them.”
Jude Salmon, Head of Participation, Triathlon Scotland said:
“These updated Codes of Practice are designed to ensure all participants in triathlon, adhere to the highest standards of conduct. These codes emphasise the importance of creating a positive and supportive environment, promoting fair play, and maintaining the integrity of the sport. By following these guidelines, everyone involved can contribute to a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants”

“The updated Codes of Practice reaffirm our ongoing commitment to a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone involved in triathlon. By setting clear expectations for coaches, leaders, activators, and technical officials, we continue to build a community where all participants can thrive and feel safe.”
The new Code of Practice for coaches, leaders and activators and the Code of Practice for Technical Officials come into effect immediately and replace previous versions issued by British Triathlon and the Home Nations:
